Plant Operations

Tri-Pro Forest Products is a sawmill and planer facility located in Orofino, Idaho. Orofino is in the middle of the Clearwater Valley in the central panhandle region of Idaho, approximately 40 miles east of Lewiston. Our logs are sourced from forests that grow the finest wood fibre in the inland northwest. Our modern plant has a primary breakdown system that includes two headrigs capable of sawing logs as large as 5’ in diameter. Lumber and cants are then processed through a twin resaw, optimizing edger and trimmer, and sent out through the sorter/stacker system. We have four dry kilns and a complete planer facility to process the lumber green or KD, surfaced or rough, and paperwrap as needed.




The sawmill also has the capability of cutting timbers up to 24”x 24” 32’ long. With lots of covered storage and paved storage yards all our products are properly cared for while waiting to be shipped. We are able to produce and ship 4 million bd. Ft. of product per month.
